What is Telltale
Explorer?:
A program that enables you to extract, view and convert resources
from the Telltale games that have been released so far:
Getting Started:
1) Opening a file.
Click 'open' and a drop-down list will appear. Either click on 'open folder' or choose one of the preset locations.
Choose one of the supported files (.ttarch or .aud) and click open. The contents of the file will then be displayed.
2) Explaining the buttons.
The panel on the right contains a number of buttons:
Open File - Opens a Telltale game file.
Search - Displays the search box (only if a file is open).
Dump File - Raw dumps the currently selected file (the file is just dumped to disk without converting it to a friendly format).
Dump All - Raw dumps every file in the archive.
View: All Files - Displays a list of all the different file types. Choosing one of these file types filters the display so that only the selected file types are shown.
E.g. - Selecting '.d3dtx' from the list would mean that only .d3dtx image files were shown in the main window.
The buttons below this change according to the type of file that is selected. If you filter the view or click on a file the panel changes to display options appropriate for that file.
For example - if you click on a .d3dtx file, the image will be drawn and the 'save image' and 'save all images' buttons will appear.
3) Viewing/Saving Images And Textures.
In all the Telltale games released so far, images are stored in .D3DTX files.
Click on a .D3DTX image and the panel on the right will change to display image buttons. (This also works for .FONT files - as these are stored as images).
Save Image - Allows you to save the currently selected image as a JPEG, BMP or PNG.
Save All Images - Saves every image in the file.
4) Saving Music.
In all the Telltale games released so far, music is stored in .AUD files.
Open an audio file and the panel on the right will change to display audio buttons.
The audio must be converted back into a normal format before it can be listened to. So do not click the 'Dump File' or 'Dump All' buttons if you want to be able to listen to the audio. Instead click one of the following buttons:
Save Audio File - Saves and converts the currently selected file.
Save All Audio Files - Saves and converts every audio file.
Limitations:
Images in Bone: Out From Boneville are corrupted - this is because
of an (unknown) encryption that Telltale uses on many of the files
in this game.
The game.langdb file in Bone: Out From Boneville isn't fully
decrypted - this is due to the encryption mentioned above.
The .ttarch files in Bone: The Great Cow Race cant be opened. This
is because the .ttarch files in this game have been encrypted in
way that hasn't yet been deciphered.
