Some of the things that you can do with the latest version of Telltale Explorer:

  • Open and dump files from Telltale archives.
  • Display a preview of images, textures and fonts.
  • Save images/fonts as JPEG, BMP or PNG.
  • Extract and save music as ogg files.
  • Decode the dialog scripts for CSI and Texas Hold’em.
  • View the contents of many other Telltale files.

New Tool - Telltale Music Extractor

h1 Monday, July 24th, 2006

Some of you may remember the Bone Music Extractor tool. I’ve now replaced this with the Telltale Music Extractor.

It enables you to rip the music from all 4 Telltale Games (Telltale Texas Hold’em, Bone: Out From Boneville, CSI-3 Dimensions of Murder, Bone: The Great Cow Race).

Download it here.

Keep checking the site, I’ll be releasing another Telltale-related tool later in the week.

Site Revamp

h1 Monday, July 3rd, 2006

After being plagued by comment spam the site’s news system has been changed from Cutenews to Wordpress. This wont affect the site much, old url’s are automatically redirected, the only thing that people need to change is the url of the RSS feed.

Alongside this, the site’s design has been changed to give it a cleaner, more modern appearance. There shouldn’t be any problems with the new site, but if you notice anything please let me know.

VDMSound Quick And Easy

h1 Saturday, July 1st, 2006
Current Version: 1.0 [Download Latest] [Read the Readme]

VdmSound Quick & Easy is a tool to run Lucasarts adventure games in Windows NT4/2000/XP with full sound and music with the minimum of hassle. To do this it uses VdmSound - a dos sound emulator. Q+E runs the game through VdmSound with the optimum command line parameters to ensure correct sound, music and if present talkie.

Unless you have a real need to run the games with the original interpreters you would be much better off using ScummVM Quick And Easy, since it has many additional features and ScummVM runs much better than the original interpreters.

ScummVM ToolBox

h1 Saturday, July 1st, 2006
Current Version: 0.1 [Download Latest] [Read the Readme]

This program has been discontinued. The ScummVM tools now come with their own GUI so use that instead.

A program that adds a friendly, quick and easy frontend to the ScummVM command line tools (the additional tools that are included with the windows daily builds). These tools let you compress the audio and video files in many games, extract the datafiles from certain games and decompile scripts from SCUMM games, the Legend of Kyrandia and Broken Sword 2.

Some of the features of ScummVM ToolBox:

  • Uses a simple wizard interface that everyone should find easy to use.
  • Provides clear, step-by-step instructions.
  • Automatically downloads and unpacks the ScummVM Tools; the user doesnt have to do anything but run the program.
  • Manages temp files and cleanes them up automatically if a tool fails.
  • Moves completed files to an area that you specify.
  • Includes the necessary encoding tools such as lame and oggenc.

Requires .NET framework 2.0 (you’ll probably have this by now, if not get it from windows update or here).

ScummVM Quick And Easy

h1 Saturday, July 1st, 2006
Current Version: 1.4.0 [Download Latest] [Read the Readme]

This program has been discontinued. Use the inbuild ScummVM GUI instead.

ScummVM Quick & Easy is a frontend for ScummVM. Designed to be simple to use, yet powerful, it has many useful features including:

  • Auto-update - Automatically downloads and installs either the newest ScummVM daily build or the newest stable build.
  • Schedule updates - Creates a windows scheduled task, and at the specified date/time Q+E silently downloads and installs the latest daily build of ScummVM.
  • Extra Tools - Also acts as a frontend to many of the extra ScummVM tools, so you can compress various datafiles without resorting to the command line.
  • Straightforward interface - All the various options are easily accessible on the main screen. Many people prefer Q+E’s look to that of the ScummVM inbuilt launcher.
  • Extremely configurable - Almost every aspect of the program can be tweaked or changed.
  • Regulary updated - Q+E has been around for more then 2 years and has been continually updated to support the latest changes to ScummVM.
